Basement reno almost done

The renovations which started in May with Malcolm working like a mad man for 2 weeks is almost over. The flooring is in the basement and the grass in the back yard is really filling out

Trip to Rockland 2007-04-16

Went on a road trip to Rockland for Easter. Visited some of Katrina and AJ's family and managed to squeeze in some sight-seeing in Boston. Have a look

Egg Shell Art 2007-03-14

I put up some pictures of the Egg shell Art we purchased in Jamaica over christmas. The colours really work well in the kitchen. We Finally got all the appliances installed AND I even managed to make two shelves to go beside the oven. The stain doesn't quite match the existing Kitchen wood, but the price was right. I also upgraded insulation in the Attic and Basement, so hopefully our energy bills will be less.

Demolition of a kitchen closet 2007-01-20

Got some new appliances and needed to make room for the fridge so the Pantry got taken down and the fridge put in that location. Took a while but at last the job is done. Next job is to get someone in to install the Hood Fan for the new Gas stove. Progress

Christmas 2006

Another Christmas in Jamaica has come and gone. Took lots of photos as usual

We managed to find some more egg shell art to expand our collection

I'm trying out a new album generator software and it's looking like it has alot of potential. Can't beat an application with alot of features and a zero price tag.

Bathroom Renovation

Finally got sick of the 3 terrible styles of wallpaper in the bathroom so we did something about it. Katrina's parents were in town so while Malcom and I were attaching a humidifer to the furnace, Sandra and Katrina were hard at work stripping and sanding the walls. Once that was done they painted the walls and Malcom and I installed a new pedistal sink, a new faucet and matching fixtures. Definately a massive improvement. We also stripped off the carpet from the staircase to the basement and painted that "bear rug" brown. Beware house guests, we put you to work when you stay at 776 Dickens. Next project to tackle is adding insulation in the attic, but sadly that won't be as glamorous as the bathroom reno

2010-09-10 Living Room done

The todo list is neverending. I take one thing off the list but I add 5 other things. I can finally say that the living room is done. The yellow walls work really well with the dark wood furniture (chose the yellow based on Kim and Chris's Kitchen colour). The mirror is hung, plants are strategically located around the room, and the fireplace has been decorated.

2005-02-02 Mom Passes

On wednesday February 2, 2005, after a 12 year battle with Cancer, my mother, Arlene Olga Meikle, passed away peacefully at Saint Andrews Memorial Hospital.

The outpouring of support from both family and friends have been a tremendous support to us in this trying time.

For those not able to attend the funeral, I made available the digital version of the Funeral Program along with the Remembrance which was prepared by my Mom.

I actually created this website because my mother was constantly complaining that she was unable to view all the photographs i've taken with my Digital camera. Feel free to browse my image gallery. I took several photographs of the Reception, and they will be uploaded here once I return to Canada

Lots of love and best wishes from a Son that misses his mom terribly.
